I have been a Pilates instructor for the past ten years and I have had many clients who are not very flexible. They have tried all kinds of exercises and stretching but they just can’t seem to get their bodies to move as freely as they would like.
In order to become more flexible, you need to know what you are doing. The first thing that you need to do is to learn how to breathe properly. If you don’t breathe correctly, your body will not be able to perform the movements properly.
The second thing that you need to do in order to become more flexible is to stretch properly. You can stretch by holding a bar, using resistance bands or you can use the machine. I prefer to teach my clients how to use the machines so that they can get a good workout without putting too much strain on their joints.
Once you have learned how to breath properly and stretch properly, you will find that you can move your body in any direction that you want. This is why Pilates is such a great exercise because it allows you to strengthen your core and to improve your posture at the same time.
Pilates is also an excellent exercise for people with back problems. If you have a bad back, you may want to start out with some light weights in order to build up your muscles. After you have gained a little strength, you can then add the resistance bands and increase the intensity of your workout.
If you have never done Pilates before, you may want to try a class. Many studios offer free classes in order to help people get started. Once you have decided that you would like to take a class, you should check with the studio in order to find out when they are offering them. Most studios will give you a free trial so that you can see if you like the class.
